Don’t just sit there, open your mouth! – says, says, says

In their recent 7:14 am Facebook live morning show, Pastor Steve & Jackie Veggalis at Destiny Worship Center in Destin, FL talked about watching the words that we say and referenced Zacharias in the book of Luke.  The angel shut Zacharias’ mouth for over nine months because he did not have the faith to believe the promises that God had given him (read Luke 1 for a full interpretation).  What a gracious and loving heavenly Father that we have that He would prevent Zacharias from speaking.  You may think that was a little extreme, harsh, and even hateful for God to do this, but He was protecting the blessing in his life from his own immaturity.

Why do you think God went to such extreme measures to block Zacharias from speaking against his own promise?  Mark 11:23 gives us the answer.

Notice how the word “𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬” is used three different times in this scripture passage and what each word literally means.

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 (Strongs 2036 - COMMAND) to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 (Strongs 2980 – to talk, utter a sound, emit a voice and make oneself heard, not be silent) will be done, he will have whatever he 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 (Strongs 3004 – continually saying, like architect, building).”  Mark 11:23 (NKJV)

At first glance you may miss what Jesus was saying here but when you understand the Greek meaning behind each word “𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 ”, His commands bring new revelation.

In Genesis, when God spoke, He created. Mark Hankins does an excellent job of explaining how powerful the things we say are and how we can create and tear down both good and evil with the words that come out of our mouth.  In Mark 11:23 he goes on to explain that sound to a situation, especially when it’s the word of God, will shatter that situation, tear down strongholds and structures around you.  When we speak anything, it is a set discourse and you are framing your world with your words.

We are 77 days from election day and on that day our lives will be changed forever.  I’ve received so many private messages from people that show videos of destruction of what “is to come” when in reality it is not God’s plan, its satan’s plan.  Since when does satan have the final word and have any of us ever known God to lose a battle?  What is going on here? These things will happen only if we let them happen on our watch.

People are filling the airwaves with fear and these videos traumatize the viewer into agreeing with what they see and then speak (Strongs 2980-to utter a sound) that destruction into the atmosphere which in turn creates a structure (Strongs 3004) because they continue to repeat it over and over again.  Or yet worse, people view this trauma and keep silent which only allows the structures of fear to remain intact placing that person in their own prison.  Remember, if you’re silent, you lose by default.  You may believe things will change but nothing will change until you say (Strongs 2036) something out your mouth (Strongs 2980).

Mark 11:23 is a law like gravity.

When activated - it will either work for you or against you.

Are we such a lazy generation that is only entertained with what we see and not appalled to the degree that we get called to action?

Mark 11:23 is a very practical application that we need to use daily to destroy the works of the enemy.  This “new normal” is not being forced on us because of racial wars, political parties, or a pandemic, it is because we have found ourselves in the middle of a spiritual battle and the only way to bring it to its knees is to pray and agree with heaven, speaking them out loud from our mouth.  Have you wondered why there is such a fight to keep masks over our mouths? The enemy understands this spiritual principal and doesn’t want you using this weapon on him.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”  Ephesians 6:12

When you SEE destruction, lies and manipulation of the truth – SPEAK (Strongs 2036 COMMAND) to it out loud (Strongs 2980 UTTER A SOUND, literally) and DO NOT STOP SAYING IT (Strongs 3004 KEEP SAYING IT AS THOUGH YOUR WORDS WERE BUILDING SOMETHING LIKE LEGOS).  Mark Hankins reminds us that the pressure to change things isn’t on us, it’s on God.  Our job is to believe (in the power of God) and speak.  Our job is to open the door to the supernatural and let God make Himself responsible for the results.
